Summer Programs in China, France, and Wales
Students of any major may consider one of our summer programs offered through our partnership with Aberystwyth University: Identity & Nationhood (ideal for political science or history majors) and Contemporary Issues in Agriculture (ideal for biology or health-related majors). - 3 weeks in July
- minimum 3.0 GPA required
- 3 course credits; actual credits to be determined with your academic advisor and PCIE
- Supplement: cost of airfare (or use frequent flyer miles!)
- Students will stay in university accommodations and will dine at the university dining hall
Students majoring in Business, Political Science, or International Studies may consider summer programs offered through our partnerships with ESSCA and EM Strasbourg, two premier business schools in France. Both schools offer a unique perspective on global business and politics. Learn more about each school and its program details below:
Ecole de Management, Strasbourg
Students must be a BUS, POL, or INT major to apply for Strasbourg:
- 4 weeks in June/July
- No supplement
- Students will take classes with guest lectures in three disciplines
- Activities include corporate and European institutional visits, as well as visits to cultural landmarks around Strasbourg
- POL 300 for 3 credits**
- BUS 365 for 3 credits**
- IDS 300 for 1.5 credit**
ESSCA - Paris, Angers or Shanghai
There are 3 locations - Paris, Strasbourg and Shanghai. At each location, students will take university-level BUS, POL or IDS courses for 4 or 5 weeks in June/July, and have the opportunity to visit cultural sights around the city in their free time. Details for each location are below and also on the ESSCA website:
Paris (BUS majors only):
- No supplement
- MKT 340 for 3 credits**
- BUS 365 for 3 credits**
Angers:
- $700* estimated supplement
- Students will travel from Angers to Paris to Brussels over the course of the 4 week program and stay in hotels with double rooms along the way.
- POL 300 for 4 credits OR BUS 365 for 3 credits**
- IDS 300 for 2 credits**
Shanghai (BUS and POL majors only)
- No supplement
- Available to students with junior or senior standing only
- Business Administration Major Electives - 4.5 credits
- Language Electives - 1.5 credits
- INS, POL, or SOC - 1.5 credits

**Do not register for these courses at Queens if you will be participating in these programs!
Scholarships
The Class of '58 Scholarship was established to honor The Class of 1958's 50th Reunion and in support of John Belk's generosity to Queens' International Program. The scholarship is intended to support the international experience of students who demonstrate academic merit and interest in international issues. Typically, two $500 scholarships are awarded annually to students participating in faculty-led programs and Summer Business Programs.
