Requesting Accommodations
Queens
University of Charlotte is eager to work with students with disabilities to
encourage their participation in an international experience. Due to
socio-cultural differences throughout the world, it will be important to plan
on how your needs will be met to ensure a successful experience. The
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) does not necessarily correspond with laws
abroad. It is important to understand that not all of the accommodations
available at Queens will be so abroad. The office of Student Accessibility
Services will work with the Myrta Pulliam Center for International Education to
prepare you for your program and assist you in planning for your accommodation.
Remember, it is important to begin the process early. Start by scheduling a
meeting with the Coordinator of Student Accessibility Services.
We recommend
that students contact Student Accessibility Services and the PCIE within 3
weeks of JBIP placement to begin the process of planning accommodations
abroad.
