Hiking China's Sacred Peaks This unique short term program will involve a good deal of physical activity as you hike China's famous peaks. Venture to China to see Beijing, The Great Wall of China, Daoist Holy Mountain Mt. Hua, Buddhist Holy Mountain Mt. Emei, Tiger Leaping Gorge, and Shangri-La. Before you leave, you will learn about Chinese philosophy, religion, and politics and consider the trajectory of Chinese culture and the similarities and differences between American and Chinese culture. The opportunity to experience this exotic country is one that should not be missed. Students will receive up to five hours of PHIL credit or HIST credit. Due to a decent amount of outdoor activity it is recommended that applicants have a certain level of fitness. This is a serious trip that takes us to some of the most majestic sites in the world and should be regarded as such. This is an OPEN program. Any questions about Hiking China's Sacred Peaks can be directed to Dr. Mullis (mullise@queens.edu) or Dr. Griffiths (griffiths@queens.edu).
