Program Description

Strasbourg Business Summer Program

EM Strasbourg Business School is recognized as the Business School of the University of Strasbourg and part of a multidisciplinary academic center of excellence. This model, inspired by international references, enables the combination of academic benefits and university support while relying on solid partners from the public sector, local authorities, and the network of its 13,000 alumni.

Students will complete internal application process for approval. Once approved, students will work with the study abroad advisor to complete a separate application with supporting documents for acceptance to the EM Strasbourg program.*

*First year students may apply to study abroad on Queens' summer program in Strasbourg, France and if they wish to participate summer after sophomore year. They should contact the CIE before the application deadline to request this exception and must adhere to all other deadlines and eligibility requirements.

Program Description:

• Challenging and thought provoking classes on how business is conducted in Europe.
• Case studies and team-building projects that help students develop their problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
• Presentations from international guest speakers,
• Visits to a variety of companies such as: Mercedes, Heineken, Steelcase, Mars, Smart, WeberHaus, ADI (Alsace Development International), Wine Industry in conjunction with the classes taught.
• Cultural visits: Haut- Koenigsbourg castle, Sipp winery, guided tour of Strasbourg, etc.
• Students will discover the beautiful region of Alsace in the East of France.

• EM Strasbourg Business School will host a welcoming dinner and a farewell dinner.

• EM Strasbourg Business School exchange students will enjoy full privileges while enrolled in the program: access to computer labs, the cafeteria and the library.

Courses:

Students will be enrolled in the following courses and recive 6-8 credits:

1) French Language and Culture (Beginner’s & Intermediate)

Courses in English (subject to change at EM Strasbourg's discretion):

2) European Integration
• History of European Integration
• The European Institutions
• The European Union and the World

3) Business in Europe
• Business Environment in Europe
• Strategy of European Art Organizations
• Marketing in Europe
• Managing the Cultural Differences in the European Context

• A variety of company visits will be organized once a week in conjunction with the corporate business environment in Europe.

• EM Strasbourg Business School will host cultural activities: Guided walking tour of Strasbourg’s old center and the Cathedral as well as a boat tour around the city of Strasbourg.

• EM Strasbourg Business School will host a welcoming dinner and a farewell dinner.

• EM Strasbourg Business School exchange students will enjoy full privileges while enrolled in the program: access to computer labs, the cafeteria and the library.
