Founded in 1909, ESSCA Business School offers students a five year program to beome managers in marketing, finance and management in an international environment. There are two locations in France available for Queens students in Summer 2015 in either Paris or Angers. This description is for the business pogram in Angers, France.* The 4-week Angers Summer Program begins with three weeks in the beautiful Loire valley city of Angers, then moves to Brussels for several days, with the final week in Paris. The program includes field trips to cultural and historical sites. Students will complete internal application process for approval. Once approved, students will work with the study abroad advisor to complete a separate application with supporting documents for acceptance to the ESSCA program*. *First year students may apply to study abroad on Queens' summer business program in Angers, France and if they wish to participate summer after sophomore year. They should contact the CIE before the application deadline to request this exception and must adhere to all other deadlines and eligibility requirements. Courses (subject to change at ESSCA's discretion): European Politics: - an overview of the historical development of the European community since the post-war period - an introduction to the complex institutional framework and the major actors of the current EU. European Economics: - an introduction to the functioning of the European single market and major economic policies - a comparative analysis of strengths and weaknesses of the EU and individual member states. Intercultural Communication: - introduction to fundamental concepts of intercultural communication - skills and competences for efficient communication - cross-cultural stereotypes, perception and cultural awareness French culture - focus on French national culture: wine, gastronomy, heritage, tradition, - symbols and collective identity.
